Open Letter to Khaled

Hello my dear Khaled,

I know we haven’t talked much. This is my fault. I was so intimidated by my first rejection (Shuttle days) that I have been paralyzed with fear every time I have the chance for my words or letters to fall across your eyes again.

I probably shouldn’t say this, but I’m very drunk right now.

Let me dive right in. I feel like we’re having a very hard time connecting… our sites. Every time I link to one of your posts, my pingback (and trackbacks!) seem to disappear into the ether like a write page mockup for WordPress.

Please help me debug this. ARE YOU DELETING THEM??? I shouldn’t have asked that, if you deem them not worthy for your site, I completely agree with you. But if not, I’m sure your innumerable readers might appreciate what a fellow fan has linked to your post for.

Yours forever,

HW

Nope, I’m most DEFINITELY am not deleting them. I have no idea why they’re not coming through to be honest with you. I’ve checked my filters and I’ve checked akismet and nothing. It could have something to do with DH or wordpress.com? I dunno but I do get trackbacks/pings from other wordpress.com sites? Maybe because HW is still relatively new? I honestly don’t have an answer to that, but don’t worry I’m sure it’ll sort itself out in time.

Habari wank I have just installed WP afresh. Its been upgraded.
All comments go to spam mod by default. How cool is that? I can just hear the sobbing in the forum now. 🙂

wordpress.com isn’t actually sending pings from some blogs. Automattic know it’s broken, but they want additional reports because they can’t yet figure out why. Hit your Feedback button…

Just remind me. Have trackbacks, pingbacks EVER worked consistently in WordPress?
